Oasis Journey : Chebika, Tamerza, Mides

Morning:

• Departure from Douz: Deprture from Douz with car4*4 to reach Tozeur.  
• Chott el Jerid: On your way between Douz and Tozeur, you can stop at Chott el Jerid, a vast salt flat with surreal, otherworldly landscapes. Depending on the season, you may witness mirages or see beautiful salt formations on the lake’s surface.
• Drive to Tozeur: Known for its lush palm groves and unique mud-brick architecture, Tozeur is a beautiful oasis town. You can make a quick visit to the palm groves or the city center before continuing to the mountain oases.

Chebika:

• Visit Chebika Oasis: This ancient Berber village is located on a mountainside and offers stunning views. Chebika is famous for its natural springs, waterfalls, and small gorges. A short hike will take you through these natural wonders, providing panoramic views of the surrounding desert.

Tamerza:

• Next stop – Tamerza: The largest of the three mountain oases, Tamerza is known for its waterfalls (though they may be dry in summer). The old village, abandoned after flooding, is fascinating to explore, with stone ruins that give insight into the region’s traditional architecture. The peaceful oasis contrasts with the surrounding desert.
• Lunch in Tamerza: You can enjoy a lunch in a local restaurant in the Oase.

Mides:

• Explore the Canyons of Mides: Mides is a small oasis near the Algerian border, famous for its striking canyons, reminiscent of the Grand Canyon. A short walk through the gorges allows you to appreciate the unique rock formations and capture stunning photos.

Afternoon:

• Return to Tozeur: After exploring the three oases, head back to Tozeur to enjoy more of the city. You might want to visit the local markets (souks) or the Dar Cheraït Museum for a cultural experience.

End of Day:
