02 days Sahara Adventure: Djerba to Douz

Day 1: Djerba – Matmata – Douz – Desert Camp

• Departure from Djerba: Start your adventure with an early morning departure from your hotel in Djerba. Cross the Roman Causeway and drive towards the rugged landscapes of southern Tunisia

• Lunch in Restaurant El Bey in Douz: Enjoy a traditional Tunisian lunch at a local restaurant in Douz.

• Camel Ride or Quad Excursion (Optional): For a more adventurous experience, opt for a short camel ride through the dunes, or join a quad excursion to explore the nearby desert. 

• Transfer to Desert Camp: From Douz, head towards your desert camp located deep in the Sahara dunes. You’ll arrive in the late afternoon.

• Sunset over the Dunes: After settling into the camp, take  a short walk into the dunes to watch the sunset. The desert sky will be painted in shades of gold and orange, creating a spectacular view of the endless Sahara sands.

• Dinner & Campfire: After the sun sets, participate in cooking of sand bread ,gather around the campfire for a traditional dinner under the stars. Enjoy local specialties such as couscous, grilled meats, and fresh salads. After dinner, relax by the fire, listen to desert music, and marvel at the brilliant stars overhead.

• Overnight at Desert Camp: Spend the night in a comfortable Berber tent, or, if you prefer, sleep under the stars for a truly immersive desert experience. The quiet of the desert at night, broken only by the wind, offers a sense of peace and connection to nature.

Day 2: Desert Camp – Douz – Djerba

• Sunrise over the Sahara: Wake up early to witness the breathtaking desert sunrise. The calm and serenity of the morning, combined with the stunning view of the dunes bathed in golden light, make for an unforgettable moment.

• Breakfast at the Camp: After the sunrise, enjoy a traditional light breakfast at the camp.

• Return to Douz: Depart from the desert camp and head back to Douz, then return to Djerba

• Visit Matmata: Visit the iconic Troglodyte houses—ancient Berber homes carved into the earth—and the famous location used in Star Wars.
• Lunch in Matmata at a traditional restaurant with local specialties.

• Arrival in Djerba: Arrive back in Djerba in the late afternoon.
